Sabrina Perez

I am the Founder and Head Instructor of Equissage California. My passion lies in equine health, rehabilitation, and in sharing the incredible benefits of equine sports massage therapy with others. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of being featured on CBS News and in multiple newspaper articles, highlighting not only the work I do with horses but also the way this therapy impacts people who learn and practice it. Teaching others how to implement these techniques and seeing the healing that follows is one of the most rewarding parts of my career.

With more than two decades of hands-on experience as an equine bodyworker, I have developed a deep understanding of the physical and emotional needs of horses.

What continues to inspire me is witnessing the transformation in horses who may have been in pain, restricted in performance, or struggling to connect with their riders.

Natalie Gregg

Hey everyone, I'm Natalie! With over a decade of hands-on experience as an Equine Bodyworker, I’ve become a trusted expert in the field, teaching hundreds of professional equine massage therapists and working with some of the most respected names in the industry.

My expertise extends beyond massage to include saddle fitting, and my extensive background as a competitive rider allows me to understand the unique needs of performance horses.

I also operate my own online courses for horse owners, along with teaching accredited certifications and continuing education programs in Gallatin County, Montana.

Equissage is the program that shaped my career, and I hope to be part of that journey for each and every one of you!

Our Equine Sports Massage Certification

Equissage California offers a comprehensive equine sports massage certification designed for individuals who are serious about learning this work correctly, thoroughly, and responsibly. This is not a casual or abbreviated course — it is an in-depth educational program that prepares students to work confidently with a wide range of horses.

Our hybrid format allows students to begin with immediate, lifetime access to our online training platform, where foundational concepts are introduced through structured video lessons, anatomy modules, technique demonstrations, and study materials. This online portion ensures every student arrives at the hands-on intensive prepared, informed, and ready to apply what they’ve learned.

The in-person portion consists of a four-day, hands-on intensive in California, limited to six students per class. Students work directly on multiple horses each day under close instructor supervision, learning proper pressure, rhythm, evaluation, and the complete Equissage sequence. This small class structure allows for individualized feedback and real skill development.

Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on equine anatomy, biomechanics, movement patterns, pain recognition, and professional application. Students learn not only how to perform massage techniques, but how to understand the horse as an athlete, observing behavior, assessing physical stress, and working as part of a horse’s broader care team.

Graduates of the Equissage California program leave with more than a certification. They leave with confidence in their hands, clarity in their knowledge, and a deeper respect for the horse — supported by lifetime access to course materials, ongoing educational resources, and instruction from an NCBTMB-approved provider with over 1,000 students trained.

I was very concerned when first signing up for the course and mildly skeptical since we would be expected to learn so much information in such a short period of time. But, I'm very pleased I went with it! They made it easy to learn the coursework in such a small window! And they teach it in such a way that it sticks with you! Sabrina and Natalie did such an amazing job and I'm so glad they also offer the advanced workshop so you can learn proper saddle fitting and have a better understanding as to how exactly a saddle can be hurting your horse. Also, learning the stretches was great! Sabrina really showed us exactly what muscles we were stretching and how to not over stretch an area. Would definitely recommend!! Especially since they started originally from home and now they've moved to a larger facility and we get to practice massaging amazing horses for an amazing therapeutic riding center!
